This is a unique passage as Paul gives a lengthy personal greeting to many in the church at Rome. Paul commends Phoebe to the church and mentions many other brothers and sisters by name. This passage teaches us about the tangible fellowship of the church at Rome and calls us to not only be committed to the idea of the church but to appreciate and be committed to one another as we serve the Lord together in the local church. The text is Romans 16:1-16. We will consider these four points:
- The commending of Phoebe. (vv. 1-2)
