The Superiority of Jesus’ Mediatorship Over the Angels

We continue in our study of Hebrews. The author is addressing the superiority of Christ’s mediatorship over the angels. He is addressing a concern and a danger that the recipients of this letter were facing.  They were distracted from the sufficiency and glory of Christ, who has been exalted to be the only mediator between God and man. He is our prophet, priest and king who reigns from heaven. The author of Hebrews uses several Old Testament references to prove this. We will look at several psalms to see how Jesus has fulfilled all the hopes and promises of God. In his rule, we have security and confidence. And it is in the visible church alone  that we know his saving rule.
