We are preparing to study the book of Jonah but this week we will consider Psalm 90 as our thanksgiving psalm. Although Psalm 90 is not a thanksgiving psalm, I thought it would be good for us to consider this psalm as an example of prayer and an encouragement for us to praise God even in times of difficulty. This psalm is a prayer of Moses who understood the futility of life since he was the covenant mediator for that generation who died in the wilderness, and Moses also failed to enter the earthly land of promise. But Moses understood the promise of the covenant and looked ahead to its fulfillment. We now live in the already/not yet of that fulfillment.
