The Immanuel Promise

The prophecy from Isaiah 7 is of great significance to us and it is similar to the prophecy in Matthew 24 in that it speaks to us about the end of the OT theocracy and the beginning of a new era with the messiah king. Isaiah looks ahead to see the birth of Christ, which is a sign of God’s special saving presence with his people.
We will consider these five points from Isaiah 7:
1. The historical context of the prophecy.
2. The grace of God extended to Ahaz.
3. Ahaz’s unbelief. (an example of the natural man’s response to God)
4. The sign and its fulfillment.
5. The resulting judgment and salvation.
