The Good News of the Resurrection

We will consider the “Good news” of the resurrection. Paul says that the gospel, “the good news,” consists of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins according to the scriptures (1 Cor 15:1-4). This is the gospel by which we are being saved, unless you believed in vain. The gospel calls us to believe and trust in him. If the gospel is such good news, and if there is such clear evidence for its truth, why are there unbelievers? We will consider this as we look at our text. The text is Matthew 27:55-28:15.
We will consider these four points:
1. Preparations for the resurrection.
2. The fact of the resurrection.
3. The two responses to the resurrection.
4. The encouragement for our faith.
