In Exodus 24 God ratifies a covenant with Israel at Mt Sinai. This covenant ceremony is part of the one covenant of grace, and it anticipates the New Covenant in Christ. The writer of Hebrews specifically makes mention of this ceremony in Hebrews 9:18-22. Furthermore, Christ speaks of the new covenant in his blood (Mt 26:28, 1 Cor 11:25). The text is Exodus 24:1-8.
We will consider these four points from the text:
1. The privilege of the covenant anticipated.
2. The obligation of the covenant stated.
3. The covenant sealed in blood.
4. The fulfillment in Christ.
