Sharing the Zeal of the Heavenly Good Shepherd

We continue in our study of Matthew 18, which gives us Jesus’ plan for dealing with sin in the church. In verses 1-14, we see three lessons that are essential for us to understand in order to follow Matthew 18:15-20. The first is the importance and the exercise of true humility. The second lesson is the need to take sin seriously. This third lesson is crucial for us to willingly and joyfully be engaged in shepherding one another. We need confidence in the Good Shepherd’s work!
We will consider these four points:

1. A heavenly perspective to challenge our prejudice.
2. A short parable revealing the Heavenly Shepherd’s work and heart.
3. A deduction that expresses the Father’s will (He will lose none of His children).
4. Application to the church today.
