Jesus is confronted by a Pharisee who was an expert in the law. Here we see Jesus’ teaching concerning the law. He answers the Pharisee’s question and shows the simplicity and spirituality of the law. Jesus is our great prophet, priest, and king. We need to learn from him because his yoke is easy and his burden is light.
The text is Matthew 22:34-40.
