We begin a study of the book of Hebrews. Hebrews is very helpful and encouraging, written to encourage God’s people to persevere through the wilderness of this world as those who have participated in this great salvation that has come through Christ. We have been delivered from sin and death through the work of our heavenly prophet, priest, and king, so that we can participate in the worship of heaven. The writer of Hebrews reminds us of the significance of our redemption and the ongoing ministry of Christ. He gives serious warnings along with great encouragement for the church. In this sense, it is like a New Covenant Deuteronomy. This sermon will be an introduction to the book. Our text is Hebrews 1:1-4.
