In Exodus 24 God ratifies a covenant with Israel at Mt Sinai. This covenant ceremony is part of the one covenant of grace, and it anticipates the New Covenant in Christ.

In our text, Romans 4: 13-25, Paul continues to discuss the doctrine of justification by faith.
We are coming to the conclusion of the Book of the Covenant and here, God is giving the people of Israel promises and exhortation in light of the coming conquest of Canaan.
What are we really trusting in? That is the issue in justification.
