Harvest OPC is a confessional and reformed church. A confessional church is one which publicly subscribes to a particular statement of doctrine. A reformed church hold beliefs that were held by the early church and were restored during the reformation.
As for all OPC congregations, our church’s doctrinal statement is found in the Westminster Confession of Faith & Catechisms. We believe that this document accurately reflects the sum of essential theological truth as taught in the pages of Holy Scripture.
The Westminster Confession was originally authored in the 1640s by an assembly of delegates from several English and Scottish protestant denominations. With some minor revisions, the Westminster Confession remains the hallmark statement of faith for Presbyterian and Reformed churches around the world.
Reformed churches believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Reformed churches believe in the sufficiency, necessity, inerrancy, and clarity of scripture. Reformed churches worship a sovereign God who ordains what so ever comes to pass for His glory. You can read more in What is the Reformed Faith.
